Wednesday Wisdom

Some people publish a weekly round up of stuff they’ve read on the net which has been instrumental or useful to them in the past week. I thought I’d do something similar, but post this on a Wednesday as this gives you the opportunity to act on it before the end of the week.

After all:

“Without knowledge action is useless and knowledge without action is futile.”
Abu Bakr

So, here’s the articles that I found inspiring and useful this week:

Ian Nuttall writing on DavidRisley.com wrote about How to Get Big Results from Small Ideas which reminded me that the application of small ideas often has a much bigger impact than having that one big idea.

Karen Ruby writing on her website ameaningfulexistence.com wrote a great article on Investing in Your Most Important Asset – Yourself This was a great reminder that you need to sharpen your sword regularly by learning new skills and improving old ones.

Ben Lumley over at 6aliens.com wrote an interesting aticle on How To Hack Your Sleep and Go From Night Assasin to Morning Warrior whilst sleep hacking isn’t something we’d normally support here, I like the article because Ben talks about how he identified a problem (working on his site) and changed his work routine from late nights to early mornings to post some awesome stuff on his site.

Moon Hussain writing on experimentsinpassiveincome.com talks about her journey (ups and downs) of her various experiments in passive income, but what resonates for me was her post on Why Automating Your Processess is the Only Way to Stay Sane.

So, what inspired you in the last week?

Thanks for shedding the spotlight on me :)
I usually do a Friday round-up, so I like how you did it on a Wednesday.

Thanks for your comment Moon. Yes, I like the sound of Wednesday Wisdom. It’s all very well getting the good stuff out at the end of the week, but I’m trying to find the posts that people can do something with straightaway.

Thanks for the recommendations. I thought they were all interesting/useful. I may have to ‘steal’ your idea as well, tho’ useful links in the personal development space (my focus) could consume a scary amount of blog space. :)

Hi Ami, thanks for the comment. I’m glad you find the idea of use. I think the trick is to find actionable articles rather than articles of interest.

    Hi Matthew,
Just great, I don’t need “Wednesday Wisdom”! I’m in need of “Thursday’s Thoughts”!
As far as inspiring posts go, this week, Mike CJ had a pretty good post on being ill and dealing with being away from your Blog until you’re back on your feet. Really makes you think, how quick things can change on you.

Each of those links sounds interesting. Doing it on Wednesday means that I will get to your suggestions before the Friday bunch. Good move.
