Wednesday Wisdom

I’m just back from a long weekend with the family in Whitby, North Yorkshire.  This has been a nice recharge of the batteries as not only was our second wedding anniversary, it was our first holiday with baby BRT.  Lesson learnt: a 3 month old does not travel light….

So, I’ve spent a couple of days catching up with what’s been going on in the blogosphere, to bring you this Wednesday Wisdom.  Wednesday Wisdom if you’re not aware  is all about sharing great information which will help you to either  improve your blog, help grow your business or help you lead a better life.  If you’d like more Wednesday Wisdom, just click the link.

So, what have I found in the blogosphere this week?

I’ve mentioned in previous Wednesday Wisdom’s  that I’m spending a lot of time travelling to one of my clients and so I’ve taken the opportunity to listen to podcasts. But this last week I’ve been reacquainting myself with Tim Ferriss’  excellent insights from the Four Hour Work Week on audiobook which I got on a Free Download From Audible.com (see link below) – where you can get the 4 Hour Work Week or any other book for the matter,  just for registering, for free.

1 FREE Audiobook RISK-FREE from Audible

One of my first visits on returning home was to  Karen Ruby’s ameaningfulexistence.com where I found Why We Sabotage Ourselves and How to Stop which was a really interesting guest post by Mitch Tarala from www.ExploringInfinity.com. In this article Mitch shares some of the reasons why we sabotage our best intentions.

I’ve not featured visited Johnny from Johnnybturant.com for a while, but his posts always make me smile.  In this post Johnny shares some of the ways to prevent WordPress catastrophes and site crashes.  As usual, he has put together the facts in a wonderful manner which makes us entertainment to read. Freaky Word Press catastrophes and site crashes, and how to prevent them

Hardly a week goes by when Steve Scott from Stevescottsite.com doesn’t get a mention. Don’t worry this is not a ‘bro-mance’ but a reflection of the really great stuff that Steve shares with his readers. This week Steve published How To Get 300 Visitors a Day from Twitter. Steve shares some really great strategies about growing quality readers which in turn will help  grow your traffic.

Men with Pens are at it again, this time with a great article by Agent X over on Menwithpens.ca  5 Sneaky Ways to Find Out What Customers Really Want… Without Asking Them Some very interesting ideas here, well worth checking out.

Finally, there’s a great video post by David Siteman Garland from  www.risetothetop.com with a really interesting interview with Craig Dalton from Dodocase.com who sold over 15,000 iPad cases with only a $500 marketing budget.

so, what about you, what have you found this week?

Welcome home Matthew and a belated Happy Anniversary to you and Mrs BRT. I got really excited about Audible when I headed over there and they told me they had an app. I can’t get it to install so, for now at least, it seems like it’s for US customers only.

I’ll give the main site a try when I get a chance though because I love a freebie. I fancy the audio version on Crush It! I imagine it will be awesome.

Anyway, thanks for some great finds.

Thanks El! Don’t worry about having the App, when I downloaded the eBook it went into iTunes so it syncs and plays straight from iTunes in the books tab.

    Hope that helps, Matthew

Matthew: your traveling wows with a 3 month-old hit close to home, although my little one is 3 years old now :) – traveling light is not in sight for quite a while!

Thanks for keeping us updated on the latest happening despite your busy schedule; I am off to check out Steve’s site.

Thanks Ana for stopping by. Last year I had a 2 seater sportscar. This year I have an estate. Next year I’m considering getting a bus….

    Hi Matthew,

Welcome back from your anniversary jaunt away. Glad to hear that you were able to relax a little for your 2nd anniversary and spent time bonding with BRT :-)

Thanks for the mention of Mitch’s guest-post on my site. I thought that it was a very unique and thought-provoking article and I’m happy to see my readers (and others) thought so, too.

You’ve got a great selection for this week! :-)
