Thursday Thoughts: Including This is Broken

As you know, we normally produce Wednesday Wisdom er on a Wednesday. But, occasionally, rather than rush the quality, we publish Thursday Thoughts instead. It’s still all about sharing great knowledge and information from our trawls around the web. Thursday Thoughts / Wednesday Wisdom posts seek to help you in one of three ways, to help you blog better beter, help you grow your business and finally, but more importantly, help you lead a better life.
So, what have we found this week?
In last week’s Wednesday Wisdom I mentioned that I’d been listening to Chris Ducker’s podcasts, which are excellent, but sadly I’ve listened to all of them! Instead, this week I’ve been listening to Tyrone Shum’s Outsource Automate and Lifestyle Design Podcast (an interview on Chris Ducker’s Virtual Business Lifestyle podcast led me to check it out), which as well as being packed full of great content (including his niche site challenge with Pat Flynn), he has got to have one of the most cheery welcome message going. “It’s Tyrone”. It makes me laugh every time. Especially if you’ve heard 3 or 4 of the podcasts in succession!
This week we will start off with a great article by Thomas Sinfield on Why Most Bloggers Don’t Make Money Blogging! He shares some basic reasons for why making money out of blogging is very hard despite of high traffic and increase in subscribers. He has also shared some tips to avoid it and make money!
On a similar theme, James from menwithpens.ca raises in his article an interesting question about whether the blogging efforts we are doing are reall worth it. Are Your Blogging Efforts Worth It?
How to lead a Better Life
Even though we are all familiar of the word “Understand” most of the ys fail to grasp the meaning of the word. Ben Lumley in his excellent article shares his ideas to understand others. How to understand others – without saying a word
Better Business
Hopefully you got to read the excellent post by Murray Lunn last week How To Escape Cubicle Nation Through Passive Income, but if you visited the site and got an error message, I apologise, a plugin failed and crashed the site. Fortunately Murray being the technical genius that he is, managed to fix it and got the site back up and running, so a big thank you to Murray
. Despite the technical difficulties I just wanted to say that Murray has given us the great honour of agreeing to be a regular guest blogger writing about how to form your escape plan and escape the rat race. He’s going to be writing on the first Friday of each month, this is going to be awesome. If you don’t know Murray check out his blog at www.murlu.com
If you get the chance after reading this post, go check out the excellent Steve’s Sunday Selection for Steve Scott’s great weekly round up of what he’s found that’s hot. Really great post, with tonnes of great links.
Finally, Talking of broken, here’s a great video featuring Seth Godin, which I shared on Facebook this week, about stuff being broken. A great rant, with some amusing photos from the great man – all about stuff not working – what can you do about it? More importantly what aspects of your business are broken and what will you do about that?

Hi Matthew,
First, enjoy your time off with your family. I hope you get great UK weather….nothing better than sun on your face and ice cream by the seaside
Again some great stuff here. I particularly like the Seth Godin piece. I haven’t seen it before but more great stuff from the master.
