Wednesday Wisdom is all about sharing great articles from around the blogosphere which will help you in three areas, building a better blog, advice to grow your business, and finally help you to lead a better life. This week I have selected some articles and resources which I am sure will help you in one of these areas!
This week I’ve been listening to Chris Ducker’s, from Virtual Business Lifestyle.com, podcast interview with Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income. Thanks to Chris’ easy going personality and sharp, thoughtful questioning, this is a really useful interview full of actionable content which will help you get started in building your online business. In fact I was so inspired by this interview that I subscribed and listened to the rest of Podcast series, which features a number of really great interviews with internet entrepreneurs. You can subscribe to the VBL podcast on iTunes for free.
In the blogosphere this week, here’s what I’ve found:
Better Blogging
Everyone who has a blog should definitely be using some sort of blog tracking/testing tools which are essential for understanding your sources of traffic and how to drive more traffic to your site. So this week I would like to share the article by the talented young blogger Michael Dunlop, who wrote the excellent post - Essential Blog Tracking Tool with some great tools (some free, some paid) you’ll discover some really useful tools that will transform your blog.
I’m a big fan of these round up posts and one of my favourite round up’s is from Steve Scott over at SteveScottSite.com with his Sunday Selections. This week Steve includes some great resources including advice for Guest Posting, How to drive traffic to your blog and advice for finding time and undertaking world travel. Go and check it out.
I commented recently that I’ve just discovered Glen Allsop’s awesome blog over at Viperchill.com. He really has some great insight into blogging trends and turning blogging schools of thought on their head. One such thought is guest blogging as a route to growing your traffic. Whilst it’s true that this does work, he talks about being mentioned (like in these Wednesday Wisdom posts) as being far more valuable at driving traffic to your site, downside of course, is that it’s much harder to do, which is why you need to work on building a proper community with other bloggers. See for yourself in his article The most effective way to increase RSS Subsrcibers
Better Life
Stress which disturbs our normal physical and physiological well being is given a beating from Karen Ruby over at ameaningfulexistence.com, where she posted an interesting article in how to motivate yourself during times of stress.
Advice to Grow Your Business.
“What can I do to help you?” do you find anything special in this 7 words? If not let’s take a look at this wonderful article written by Jonathan, from Jonathanfields.com in which he shares his experience he had with Ramit Sethi, the author of New York Times bestselling book, I Will Teach You To Be Rich and founder of the popular blog, IWillTeachYouToBeRich.com.
So that’s what I’ve found in the blogosphere this week. But what about you? What have you found?

Hey Jess, thanks for stopping by (and subscribing to the newsletter!)
I don’t think you’ll regret the podcasts at all!
I listened to Chris’s podcast with a chap whose name has totally escaped me … hmmm Cody? Cory? I can’t remember. He’s a guy who lives around Chris’s neck of the woods. I listened to the pair of them whilst dismantling furniture about a month ago. It was excellent!
What I thought was particularly neat (from a marketing point of view) was how his intro music was the same as what he uses on his videos. Very slick.

Hi El, that’s not slick, that’s branding!
Yes, I know the one you mean that was good too. In fact they are all excellent to be honest and really interesting. The only thing that frustrates me is that because I’m driving I can’t do anything about the great ideas I have whilst I’m listening!
Thanks fo rthe comment.
Hey Matthew,
Thanks for the shout-out. I’m glad that you found the article interesting. I hope people come away with a phrase or two that can help them during stressful times in their lives.
Wow, I’ve read every one of the selections here (except I haven’t listened to the podcast). If both you and El and recommending it, I’ll definitely have to give it a listen.
Thanks,
Karen

I have to say there are few blogs that I will read every single word of for various reasons – bad structure being one of them – THIS ONE HELD MY INTEREST FROM START TO FINISH.
I also found your recommendations very interesting and useful. It was useful to check that I had the blog tracking cracked.
What I found of greatest value was your recommendation to look at the ‘stress-busting-guru’ Karen Ruby … I loved it. Another great blogger who knows ‘which way is up’. The poem on beating your fears was superb and I too recommend everyone to read it.
