Over to you James:
Coming up with a unique idea in today’s market place is really difficult. Yet every now and again a new product arrives and you think ‘How didn’t I think of this?’ The truth is you could make a good living and build a potentially profitable business by providing a service that everyone else is doing or you could build an empire by;
Individual
There is no one else like you on the planet. Yes millions of others will have the same view point as you, but only you can put your spin on it. If you’re brash and a bit wacky then by all means be that person. Good or bad be unique.
There is absolutely nothing wrong in being yourself. Yeah if you are the loud one or even the quiet little one then you will turn some people off, but by being you, the relationship with the people who you will attract, will be genuine and unbreakable.
Passion
You need passion to succeed in anything. If you don’t believe in it then no one will. That passion needs to be overflowing at an incredible rate so that your readers or customers can see why they should believe in you and or buy your product straight away.
Passion can quite easily become an obsession, just be careful that the obsession doesn’t cloud your judgement.
Goal
If you don’t know where you are going, you can’t start your journey. I don’t just mean saying ‘My goal is to make a million this time next year’, it means sitting down with a pen and paper and map out what you want to achieve, how you are going to do it and more importantly why you are going to do it that way.
Brainstorming or mind mapping or simply just sat down with others over a coffee and a note pad and hammer it out.
Branding
Branding is important, for example look at Matthew, The Big Red Tomato Company, that is a memorable brand name. A name can potentially make or break you, but it doesn’t have to be a clever twist of an existing word it could quite easily be plain, simple and to the point.
I think ultimately what this all boils down to is be you. It’s you who has come up with the idea, you who has thought out its development and future so it’s you that will make it work!
What do you think?
